Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 60th All-India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police (DGP/IGP Conference) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on November 28, 2025. This annual conference is the highest platform where senior police leadership from all states and Union Territories, along with central police organisations (CRPF, BSF, CISF, NSG, IB, CBI, NIA etc.) deliberate on India's internal security challenges and coordinate policing strategies. The three-day conference, scheduled from 28 to 30 November, focused on key themes including: Left Wing Extremism (LWE) — where significant operational successes in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region have been achieved in 2025, drug trafficking and narco-terrorism, organised cybercrime and online fraud, border security management, and smart policing through technology and AI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated on 29-30 November 2025 and later presided over the conference at IIM Raipur. Raipur was chosen as the venue reflecting Chhattisgarh's centrality in the anti-LWE operations, where the Maoist menace has been severely degraded through sustained security operations in 2024–25.
