As of June 2025, Rajasthan holds the top position in India in installed solar energy capacity. The state's leadership is driven by the Bhadla Solar Park in the Thar Desert, spanning 56 sq km with 2,245 MW capacity and 10 million solar panels, making it India's largest and the 11th-largest solar park in the world. Bhadla reduces greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 4 million tonnes per year. Rajasthan has aggressively promoted solar energy through incentives, policies, and large-scale solar parks, contributing significantly to India becoming the world's third-largest solar power producer in 2025.
