On April 11, 2026, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 213 development works worth ₹607.66 crore in Bandikui, Dausa district, on the occasion of the 200th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that the Government of Rajasthan is carrying forward Phule's mission of equal dignity, women's education and empowerment of the poor, Dalits and backward classes through welfare schemes inspired by his ideals. He highlighted state-specific programmes such as the Mangala Animal Insurance Scheme, Gopal Credit Card and the Dairy Producer Support Scheme providing a ₹5 per litre subsidy to milk producers, as well as Centre-backed initiatives like PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Ujjwala Yojana and PM Jan Dhan Yojana. The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government's zero tolerance stance against corruption, citing strict action in paper leak cases and the investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission during the previous Congress regime. The Bandikui event was part of the Rajasthan government's wider participation in the nationwide two-year Phule bicentenary commemoration, during which the state plans outreach through schools, panchayats and Satyashodhak-themed awareness drives. The foundation-stone-laying covered projects spanning rural roads, drinking water, schools, health sub-centres, irrigation and urban infrastructure across multiple blocks of Dausa district.
