Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 213 development works worth ₹607.66 crore in Bandikui, Dausa district on April 11, 2026, marking the 200th birth anniversary of social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The state will observe a bicentennial commemoration year from April 10, 2026 to April 10, 2027 to honour Phule's legacy in education and social justice. Among the key projects inaugurated were a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at the Agra Railway crossing in Bandikui, new sewerage systems in Baswa and Bandikui towns, and the renaming of the local polytechnic college after Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The ceremony also signalled the formal operationalisation of the newly constituted Dausa-Bandikui Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), which spans both towns, Bhandarej municipality and 265 villages across eight tehsils. The UIT will plan the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway logistics corridor, regulate lease issuance, land-use changes and township roads. The Chief Minister stated that Mahatma Jyotiba Phule dedicated his life to uplifting women, farmers, labourers and marginalised communities, citing Phule and his wife Savitribai as pioneers of women's education. He also highlighted state welfare schemes including the enhanced PM Kisan Samman Nidhi amount of ₹9,000 per year in Rajasthan, the ₹150 per quintal bonus on wheat procurement at MSP, and the Lakhpati Didi programme that has trained 16 lakh women across the state. State Minister Avinash Gehlot noted that water supply projects benefiting 17 districts were also progressing under the Chief Minister's leadership.
