The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala hosted the 14th edition of the prestigious Admirals Cup Sailing Regatta from 08 to 13 December 2025 at Ettikulam beach, the bay of INA. Recognised as one of the worlds most respected international naval sailing championships, the 2025 edition saw participation from a record 35 countries, showcasing exemplary sailing skill, grit, and sportsmanship over six days of intense competition on Indias southwest coast in Kerala. The Admirals Cup is conducted in the Match Racing format using the internationally acclaimed ILCA-6 class (formerly Laser Radial) sailboats, known for rewarding tactical acumen, physical endurance and precise seamanship. The opening ceremony took place on 09 December 2025, followed by four full days of racing amid challenging sea and wind conditions in the Arabian Sea. The event concluded with a formal Closing Ceremony on 13 December 2025, where awards were presented to the top-performing teams and outstanding individual sailors. Hosting the Admirals Cup reinforces INA Ezhimalas stature as Indias premier institution for naval officer training and reflects Indias growing soft-power engagement with partner navies under the Indo-Pacific and SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) framework. Participating crews represented navies and naval academies from across Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and the Americas, making it among the largest international naval sports events hosted by India in 2025.
