The Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT) launched a Career Education Programme in November 2025 aimed at strengthening the career-counselling capacities of government school teachers across Rajasthan. The programme trains government teachers to guide students on academic choices, vocational pathways, skill development options, and emerging career trends. It is specifically designed to provide structured career counselling to students from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds — including girls in remote areas who are the first generation of higher education aspirants in their families. RSCERT operates under the Rajasthan government's School Education Department and is responsible for curriculum design, teacher training, and educational research. The Career Education Programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 mandate for holistic education and the integration of vocational education from Class 6 onwards. It is also linked to Rajasthan's Rajiv Gandhi Career Portal, which provides career guidance resources to students in government schools. The initiative addresses the critical gap in career awareness in rural Rajasthan, where students — especially from SC, ST, and OBC communities — often lack access to qualified career counsellors and make uninformed choices about education and employment pathways.
