NITI Aayog's Frontier Tech Hub launched the roadmap titled 'Reimagining Agriculture: A Roadmap for Frontier Technology Led Transformation' in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The document outlines a 2047 vision for making Indian agriculture technology-driven, inclusive, and climate-resilient. Key pillars include Artificial Intelligence and precision farming, digital public infrastructure for agri-data, drone-enabled services, biotech and gene-editing for crop improvement, and smart supply chains to reduce post-harvest losses. The roadmap sets a target of doubling farmer income and making India a global agri-technology leader by 2047. Rajasthan — as a major agricultural state facing arid conditions, recurring drought, and dependence on groundwater — is expected to benefit significantly from precision irrigation technologies and climate-resilient crop varieties proposed under this framework.
