Rajasthan hosted the Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 on January 6, 2026, at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), Jaipur, as part of India's build-up to the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada, and Rajasthan IT Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore were among the key attendees. The conference brought together national and state leadership, policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and academia to deliberate on Artificial Intelligence's role in governance, infrastructure, innovation, and workforce development. Major outcomes included the formal launch of the Rajasthan AI/ML Policy 2026, which establishes a policy framework for responsible and inclusive AI adoption across government services and industries. The government also announced a plan to train 1 million (10 lakh) youth in AI skills through the iStart Learning Management System (LMS), a dedicated digital platform for AI skilling. Other launches at the event included the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal for the animation, visual effects, gaming, and comic sectors, and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Google, IIT Delhi, National Law University Jodhpur, and the Skill Development Network. The conference reflected Rajasthan's positioning as a hub for India's emerging AI ecosystem, with Chief Minister Sharma emphasising AI's transformative role in healthcare, agriculture, and education delivery across the state.
