The fourth edition of India-Australia joint military exercise 'AUSTRAHIND 2025' commenced on October 13 at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia, and ran till October 26. A 120-member Indian Army contingent led by a Gorkha Rifles Battalion participated alongside Australian Defence Forces. The exercise focused on joint company-level operations in open and semi-desert terrain, sub-conventional warfare in urban environments, interoperability, and integration of emerging technologies. AUSTRAHIND was first held in Rajasthan in 2022 and is conducted alternately in India and Australia, reflecting deepening India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
