Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ajmer, Rajasthan on February 28, 2026, where he launched and laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure projects worth approximately ₹17,000 crore. The event was a major push for physical and economic infrastructure in Rajasthan, signalling continued central investment in the state.

Among the flagship projects announced was the Bandikui–Jaipur Greenfield Expressway, a major new road corridor aimed at reducing travel time between Bandikui and Jaipur and easing congestion on the existing National Highway. The Delhi–Vadodara Expressway, which passes through Rajasthan, also received attention at the event as part of the broader highway network expansion.

A major highlight of the programme was the distribution of 21,863 government job appointment letters to newly recruited state government employees, providing direct employment benefits. This was part of the broader 'Rozgar Melas' that PM Modi has conducted across states.

The infrastructure projects collectively span road construction, expressways, and connectivity improvements designed to boost economic activity, reduce logistics costs, and improve inter-city mobility within Rajasthan. The event was attended by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union ministers, and senior officials.

Rajasthan's strategic location along the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and its position as a gateway to western India make such infrastructure investments particularly significant for the state's economic development. Improved road connectivity is expected to benefit agriculture, tourism, and industrial sectors, and integrate Rajasthan further into national supply chains.
