Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma of Rajasthan announced the formation of a new department dedicated to Pravasi Rajasthanis (Non-Resident Rajasthanis or NRRs) during a high-level review meeting on December 4, 2025 in Jaipur. The announcement was made ahead of the Pravasi Rajasthani Sammelan scheduled for December 10, 2025 in Jaipur. The new NRR department will serve as a single-window facilitation centre for diaspora Rajasthanis seeking to invest in the state, start businesses, or engage with social and cultural initiatives. The CM noted that an estimated 25 lakh Rajasthanis live and work outside India, contributing significantly to the global economy. The department will maintain a comprehensive database of NRRs, facilitate their investments through streamlined clearance processes, and coordinate with the Rising Rajasthan initiative. It will also organise annual state-diaspora conclaves and offer incentives for NRR investment in key sectors including renewable energy, tourism, agri-tech, and education. The move follows the successful Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit held in December 2024, where MoUs worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed.
