The Rajasthan government, under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, unveiled the Youth Policy 2026 in January 2026 to ensure the all-round development of the state's youth. The policy establishes a three-tier institutional framework for its implementation, focusing on education, future skills including Artificial Intelligence (AI), and employment generation. Key features include skill-based and inclusive education models, with special emphasis on emerging technologies such as AI, data science, and cybersecurity to prepare youth for future job markets. The policy mandates the creation of youth leadership development programmes, entrepreneurship incubation support, and sports promotion through a structured framework at district and state levels. It also includes provisions for mental health support for youth, addressing rising concerns about youth wellbeing. The Youth Policy 2026 is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and India's Skill India Mission, aiming to make Rajasthan's youth industry-ready. Rajasthan has a youth population (15–29 age group) of approximately 2.25–2.30 crore — 27.2% of the state's population — making youth-oriented policy a high priority for governance. The policy envisions Rajasthan emerging as a model state for youth development, leveraging its large youth demographic as a dividend for economic growth, innovation, and social progress. It complements the state's Industrial Park Promotion Policy 2026 and other economic policies aimed at job creation.
