The Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) achieved a record speed of 160 km/h on the Delhi-Meerut corridor, making it the fastest train service in India, surpassing Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat Express which operate at around 130 km/h. The service covers 55 km between New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and Meerut South in Uttar Pradesh, part of the planned 82.15 km corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram with 16 stations. Trains run every 15 minutes and reach 160 km/h on brief stretches. The project is operated by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), a joint venture of the central government and states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Full operations will reduce Delhi-Meerut travel time to under one hour.
