On October 26, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a Yellow Alert for 9 Rajasthan districts — Kota, Baran, Bundi, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, and Udaipur — as a depression over the Arabian Sea strengthened and a second system in the Bay of Bengal was developing into what would become Cyclone Montha. Light to moderate rain with heavy spells was forecast across Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer divisions. A Western Disturbance was simultaneously set to become active from October 27 over North India, compounding the weather threat. By October 28–30, Cyclone Montha had triggered heavy unseasonal rain across 23 Rajasthan districts, caused temperature drops of up to 8°C, damaged harvested crops in Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Kota, and Baran, and led to school closures. Sangod (Kota) recorded 16 mm in 15 minutes and Nainwa (Bundi) saw four inches in 24 hours.
