Six Opposition MPs were suspended for the rest of the Budget Session after an uproar in the Lok Sabha during which papers were allegedly thrown towards the Chair. The suspended members include Hibi Eden, Amarinder Singh, Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, and Prashant Yadaorao Padole. The Opposition had been protesting over the government's handling of the Budget debate, demanding more time for discussion. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi subsequently wrote to Speaker Om Birla, alleging that preventing him from speaking in the Lok Sabha violates parliamentary convention.
