Shailesh Chandra, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and MD & CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, was elected president of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA) effective November 1, 2025.

Chandra becomes the first Indian to head OICA, the Paris-based global automobile manufacturers' association representing 43 national trade associations worldwide. He succeeds John Bozzella of the USA's Alliance for Automotive Innovation. Hildegard Mueller of Germany's VDA was appointed Vice President. Chandra holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Varanasi.
