The Indian Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) commenced their first-ever bilateral naval exercise — IN-RoKN — on October 13, 2025, at the Busan Naval Base, South Korea. Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri, a Shivalik-class stealth frigate, participated alongside South Korea's ROKS Gyeongnam in both harbour and sea phases.

The harbour phase included cross-deck visits, professional exchanges, and cross-training sessions, while the sea phase featured joint manoeuvres to enhance interoperability and operational coordination. The exercise marks a significant milestone in the Indo-Pacific maritime cooperation, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the India-Korea Special Strategic Partnership established in 2015. INS Sahyadri was on an operational deployment to the South China Sea and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
