The Government of Rajasthan, through a March 13, 2026 notification, issued the Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy 2026 — a comprehensive framework designed to position the state as a key node in India's emerging semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The policy was announced in alignment with the Centre's India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, for which ₹1,000 crore is provided for FY 2026-27, and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for semiconductors.

The policy focuses on four target segments: Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT), Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP), sensor manufacturing, and fabless chip design. Two dedicated areas — the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area and the Kankani Industrial Area — have been designated as Priority Semiconductor Corridors, offering fast-track land allotment, coordinated utility support (uninterrupted power and water), and single-window clearances through the RajNivesh portal.

Key financial incentives include: 100% electricity duty exemption for 7 years, 75% exemption on stamp duty and land conversion charges, 25% reimbursement of conversion costs, 60% grant equivalent to the capital subsidy approved under India Semiconductor Mission, 5% interest subvention on term loans, and 50% reimbursement of environmental protection expenditures. Captive renewable energy projects get 100% electricity duty exemption.

Implementation will be overseen by the State Level Sanctioning Committee and State Empowered Committee, with the Department of Industries and Commerce as the nodal agency. Jodhpur's established IT ecosystem (IIT Jodhpur, NIT Jodhpur), proximity to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), and Rajasthan's existing electronics manufacturing clusters make it a strategic fit for semiconductor assembly and testing operations.
