External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had multiple conversations in recent days during the West Asia crisis, with the latest discussion covering safety of shipping and India's energy security near the Strait of Hormuz. The talks were significant because around half of India's recent crude imports, and about 40% on a longer-term average, transit through the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the Liberia-flagged Suezmax tanker Shenlong, carrying around one million barrels of Saudi crude, reached Mumbai Port after transiting the Strait.
