World Mental Health Day was observed on October 10, 2025, with the theme 'Access to Services — Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,' emphasizing the need for inclusive and timely mental health support during crises like pandemics, wars, and natural disasters.

In India, the observance was marked by Union Health Minister JP Nadda's announcement that actress Deepika Padukone had been appointed as India's first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Padukone will work to spread awareness, organize de-stigmatization programmes, and promote government initiatives like Tele-MANAS. Her Live Love Laugh Foundation has supported over 21,900 persons across 15 districts in 8 states.
