The Indian Air Force officially operationalised the Mudh-Nyoma Air Force Station in eastern Ladakh on November 13, 2025. Located at approximately 13,700 feet, it is one of the world's highest fighter-capable airbases, just 30 km from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh marked the milestone by landing a C-130J transport aircraft on the newly upgraded 2.7-km paved runway. Developed under BRO's Project Himank at a cost of ₹218 crore, the base features hardened shelters, weapon depots, radar, and ATC infrastructure. It enhances India's rapid air deployment capability near Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh.
