Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at his residence in Mumbai at the age of 89, following age-related illness. He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 10 with respiratory issues before being discharged.
Born Dharam Singh Deol in 1935 in Sahnewal, Punjab, Dharmendra acted in over 300 films in a career spanning six decades. His iconic role in 'Sholay' (1975) as Veeru remains one of the most celebrated performances in Indian cinema. He received the Padma Bhushan in 2012. His last rites were held at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai's Vile Parle, attended by family and film industry colleagues.
