The Union Cabinet on November 12, 2025 approved the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) with a total outlay of ₹25,060 crore (US$ 2.83 billion) for FY26 to FY31. The flagship initiative, announced in Union Budget 2025-26, marks a strategic shift from fragmented export schemes to a single, outcome-based mechanism.

EPM will be implemented through two sub-schemes: Niryat Protsahan (financial support including interest subvention, export factoring, and credit guarantees for MSMEs) and Niryat Disha (non-financial support including export quality improvement, branding, packaging, logistics, trade fairs, and capacity building). The mission targets boosting India's export competitiveness, especially for MSMEs, first-time exporters, and labour-intensive sectors.
