National Energy Conservation Day was observed on December 14, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power. India highlighted major progress in energy efficiency, renewable energy expansion, and power-system reliability.

National Energy Conservation Day was introduced in 1991; the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, set up on 1 March 2002 under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, now organizes the national observance under the Ministry of Power. India's achievements include expanding to over 220 GW of renewable energy capacity, the PAT (Perform Achieve and Trade) scheme saving 26 million tonnes of oil equivalent, and star-labelling reaching over 30 appliance categories. The 2025 celebrations emphasized conservation as a key pillar of sustainable growth strategy.
