Sanjay Garg, IAS officer of the 1994-batch Kerala cadre, assumed charge as Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on November 1, 2025. He brings over three decades of experience in strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation across agriculture, defence, industrial promotion, and social sectors.
Prior to joining BIS, he served as Secretary of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Additional Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education.
