The Government of India announced the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) 2025, India's highest recognition for scientific achievement. Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar received the Vigyan Ratna award posthumously for his lifetime contributions to astrophysics and cosmology.

Eight scientists were selected for the Vigyan Shree award, fourteen young scientists for the Vigyan Yuva category, and Team Aroma Mission CSIR received the Vigyan Team award. The RVP, introduced in 2024 replacing the earlier Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize system, covers 13 domains of science and technology and is given by the President of India.
