The Rajasthan Tourism Department launched the 'Adopt a Tourism Site' initiative, inviting private players and communities to restore and manage heritage and eco-tourism locations with a minimum 5-year adoption period. Commercial activities are permitted to generate self-sustaining maintenance funds.

The initiative allows shopping arcades featuring local cuisine, handicrafts, and traditional products at adopted sites. The department is also exploring flexible hours including potential night access for select high-footfall sites. Detailed operational guidelines and an eligible site list are expected soon. This initiative aims to revitalize lesser-known heritage sites while generating local employment.
