The Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme has fabricated 56 student-designed semiconductor chips and filed over 75 patents, highlighting India's growing indigenous chip design capability. The programme supports the chipmaking startup ecosystem and is a key component of India's semiconductor self-reliance strategy.

C2S, under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, trains students across IITs, IISc, and other premier institutions in full-stack chip design from architecture to fabrication. This aligns with the India Semiconductor Mission's broader goal of building a complete semiconductor ecosystem. With Rajasthan's new Semiconductor Policy approved by the state cabinet, the state aims to attract fabless design firms and semiconductor parks.
