All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, operationalized the Ashray facility with support from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for patients waiting outside the hospital to avail OPD services. The facility provides shelter, basic amenities, and information assistance to thousands of patients who travel from across India for treatment at AIIMS.

Separately, India marked a major healthcare milestone with the inauguration of its first government hospital-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) clinic at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences. The AI clinic uses machine learning algorithms for preliminary diagnosis, triage, and treatment recommendations, aiming to reduce patient wait times and improve healthcare delivery in public hospitals.
