Honda Cars India announced plans to manufacture its first electric vehicle — the Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV — at its Tapukara plant in Alwar district, Rajasthan, with an investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held discussions with Takashi Nakajima, President and CEO of Honda Cars India. Honda has commenced pan-India road testing of the 0 Alpha production prototype, flagged off from Tapukara, evaluating ride quality, handling, efficiency and compatibility with different charging networks across extreme heat, monsoon and varied terrain conditions. The vehicle is expected to debut by 2027.
