Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma addressed the Hariyalo Rajasthan Environment Conclave held in Jaipur on December 17-18, 2025, organised by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board. Sharma declared that the state government draws inspiration for its environmental policies and campaigns from India's rich cultural traditions of reverence for nature, citing the historic 1730 Khejarli sacrifice — in which 363 Bishnoi community members gave their lives to protect Khejri trees — as a timeless symbol of environmental devotion. Key achievements of the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign were highlighted: under the campaign, inspired by PM Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam' initiative, approximately 20 crore saplings have been planted in the last two years, with over 90% survival rate — a dramatic improvement over the earlier 50-60% rate. At the conclave, CM Sharma also announced the establishment of a Centre of Excellence to promote the Climate Action Plan-2030 and clean and green technologies. The state has introduced the Circular Economy Incentive Scheme-2025 to encourage sustainable production and consumption. A Green Economy Exhibition was also inaugurated by CM Sharma, showcasing sustainable innovations from across Rajasthan. The conclave underscored Rajasthan's commitment to balancing rapid economic development — including its ambitious renewable energy targets — with robust environmental protection mechanisms.
