The Rajasthan government under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma unveiled the provisions of the Rajasthan Youth Policy 2026 in January 2026, replacing the previous youth policy in light of changing demographic trends and dynamic global-technological factors. The policy focuses on eight key pillars: education and skills, employment and entrepreneurship, health and wellness, social inclusion, sports and culture, environment and sustainability, digital and AI literacy, and institutional governance. A three-tier institutional mechanism forms the backbone of implementation: a high-level committee chaired by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, a state-level task force, and a core implementation committee. Skill-based and inclusive education models will be promoted, with special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence to prepare youth for future employment markets, including the gig economy and unorganised sectors. The policy ensures equal opportunities with special focus on marginalised communities — including SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled youth — and promotes gender inclusivity free from social discrimination. Youth are also positioned as active participants in environmental conservation and green technology promotion. Rajasthan Youth Policy 2026 targets 2.25-2.30 crore youth aged 15-29, representing 27.2% of the state's population, and views this policy as foundational to CM Sharma's target of 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh private sector jobs over five years.
