Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 350th Shaheedi Samagam of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on March 1, 2026. He highlighted initiatives for the Sikh community and social unity, paying tribute to the ninth Sikh Guru who sacrificed his life in defence of religious freedom. PM Modi called Guru Teg Bahadur 'Hind di Chadar' (Shield of India) and emphasised his legacy of courage and interfaith harmony.

The event was attended by prominent Sikh religious leaders, political figures, and thousands of devotees. The PM also inaugurated a digital exhibition tracing the life and contributions of Guru Teg Bahadur.
