Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched LEAPS 2025 (Logistics Excellence, Advancement and Performance Shield) on October 13 during events marking the 4th anniversary of PM Gati Shakti. LEAPS is a DPIIT flagship benchmarking initiative covering 13 categories promoting ESG compliance, green logistics, transparency, and resilience across logistics players.

Applications were invited through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal; later PIB reporting records the online window as 13 October to 26 December 2025, Expert Committee meetings on 11-12 February 2026, an Award Committee meeting on 17 March 2026, and felicitation of LEAPS 2025 winners on 13 May 2026 in New Delhi. India's logistics sector was valued at USD 215 billion in 2021 and employs over 22 million people. A DPIIT-NCAER study placed India's logistics cost at 7.97% of GDP for 2023-24. The National Logistics Policy targets reducing logistics costs to single digits.
