The Asian Development Bank approved a ₹4,100 crore loan for Phase-I of the Musi Riverfront Development Project in Telangana, covering 21 km of riverfront rejuvenation. The project aims to revive the ecological and socio-economic aspects of the Musi River passing through Hyderabad.

The project includes flood management infrastructure, sewage treatment plants, riverfront parks, urban green spaces, and pedestrian-friendly promenades. It follows the successful models of Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad and Chambal River Front in Kota. The Telangana government plans to complete Phase-I by 2029, with subsequent phases extending the development to 55 km.
