The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) released the National Frequency Allocation Plan 2025 (NFAP-2025), effective from December 30, 2025. The NFAP is a key policy document that governs the allocation of radio frequency spectrum for various telecom services, defence, space communication, broadcasting, and scientific research in India.

The updated plan incorporates decisions from the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-23) and provisions for 5G and 6G spectrum requirements. It also addresses frequency bands for satellite internet, UAV communications, and IoT applications. NFAP-2025 replaces the earlier NFAP-2022 edition.
