Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 on October 8 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. Asia's largest telecom, media, and technology event ran from October 8-11 under the theme 'Innovate to Transform', hosting over 1.5 lakh visitors, 7,000 delegates, and participants from more than 150 countries with 400 exhibitors.

The PM highlighted that India has developed its own indigenous 4G technology stack, now ready for export, placing India among an elite group of five countries with such advanced telecom capability. Key focus areas included Optical Communications, Semiconductors in Telecom, Quantum Communications, 6G development, and Fraud Risk Indicators. IMC is organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
