Natural resource base and exam frame

Rajasthan's economy is shaped by scarcity and variety together. The western districts have desert climate, sandy soils, sparse surface water, pastoral activity, gypsum, lignite and petroleum pockets. The Aravalli belt carries metallic minerals, forest patches, hill sanctuaries and watershed-dependent farming. The eastern plains and canal commands support wheat, mustard, cotton and dairy, while Hadoti and the south-east add black soils, Chambal irrigation, soybean, coriander and forested wildlife habitats. For an objective LDC paper, the safe method is to connect each fact with region, district and resource type, not to memorise Rajasthan as one uniform desert.
