Rajasthan Economy: Core Sectors
Rajasthan's economy has to be studied as a state economy, not as a miniature version of the Indian economy. The official Senior Secondary CET syllabus says: "Role of Industry, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Mineral Sector in the development of State." This makes the answer frame clear: connect each sector with income, jobs, resources and regional problems.
Agriculture gives food crops, cash crops, farm labour and demand for rural markets. Animal husbandry gives milk, meat, wool, manure and regular cash flow when crop income is uncertain. Industry converts raw material, minerals, farm produce and skills into higher-value goods. Minerals support mining, cement, stone, metals and allied transport or construction work. Services such as tourism, trade, transport, education, health, administration and finance matter for state income, but the syllabus headline for this topic remains industry, agriculture, animal husbandry and minerals.
The exam-ready frame is simple: agriculture and livestock support rural livelihood; minerals and industry support production and investment; services explain the modern composition of state income. When a question asks about Rajasthan's development, write sector plus example plus problem.
