Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented Union Budget 2026-27 on February 1, 2026 — her ninth consecutive budget presentation. The total capital infrastructure outlay was raised to ₹12.2 lakh crore for FY 2026-27, up significantly from the previous year, signalling a continued push for infrastructure-led growth.

Key announcements include: (1) Biopharma SHAKTI — Strategy for Healthcare Advancement through Knowledge, Technology & Innovation — a dedicated ₹10,000 crore fund over five years to develop India as a global biopharma manufacturing hub; (2) Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme — ₹40,000 crore allocated to strengthen India's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem; (3) Seven High-Speed Rail Corridors to be developed as 'growth connectors' linking major cities, advancing environmentally sustainable passenger transport; (4) Renewable Energy Allocation raised 30% to ₹32,914 crore; (5) ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund for future champions.

For Rajasthan, the electronics and semiconductor push aligns with the state's March 2026 Semiconductor Policy and the Bhiwadi semiconductor ATMP/OSAT facility inaugurated on May 15, 2026; the officially listed high-speed rail corridors do not include a Delhi-Jaipur-Ahmedabad route. The renewable energy boost benefits the state's leading solar capacity.
