The Union Cabinet approved Phase V-A of the Delhi Metro Rail Project, adding three new corridors with 13 stations (10 underground, 3 elevated) spanning 16.076 km at an estimated cost of ₹12,014.91 crore. The three corridors are: Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block (5.6 km), Inderlok to Indraprastha (8.3 km), and Tughlakabad to Terminal-1 IGI Airport (2.2 km).

The approval brings the total operational and under-construction Delhi Metro network to over 430 km, making it one of the largest metro systems in the world. The PAIMANA dashboard lists the target date of completion as 31 December 2028. Phase V-A aims to reduce vehicular traffic on key arterial roads and improve last-mile connectivity to IGI Airport from South Delhi.
