At the COP30 climate summit in Belem, Brazil in November 2025, India reaffirmed its commitment to equitable climate action based on Common but Differentiated Responsibilities. India highlighted achievements including reducing GDP emission intensity by 36% from 2005-2020, and non-fossil power reaching over 50% of installed capacity. At COP30, India had not yet submitted its updated NDC for 2035 and said the plan would follow after domestic approval. India later submitted its Nationally Determined Contribution for 2031-2035 in April 2026. India demanded developed countries accelerate emission reductions and deliver adequate climate finance.
