Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative postage stamp marking the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which was founded in 1925 on Vijayadashami by K.B. Hedgewar in Nagpur. The RSS centenary celebrations were held across the country.

The RSS, the ideological parent of the ruling BJP, has been a significant socio-cultural force in India for a century. Founded with the aim of uniting the Hindu community for national service, the organisation has expanded to become one of the world's largest voluntary organisations with an estimated 6-7 million active members across 57,000+ shakhas (branches). The commemorative stamp celebrates the organisation's role in social service and national integration.
