Rohit Sharma, who led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup triumph and the 2023 ODI World Cup final, has over 18,000 international runs with 53 centuries. Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored 171* against Australia in the 2017 ICC Women's ODI World Cup semi-final, has captained India to multiple ICC event semi-finals. Other sports recipients included veteran tennis star Vijay Amritraj who received the Padma Bhushan. The awards reflect the government's recognition of India's growing stature in global sports beyond cricket.
