Budget 2026-27 allocated ₹1,06,530.42 crore to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare — an increase of 8.96% over RE FY26. PM-JAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) received ₹9,500 crore (+5.56%) to expand beneficiary coverage. PM-ABHIM (Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission) surged 67.66% to ₹4,770 crore — focused on critical care blocks, integrated public health laboratories, and district hospital strengthening. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission got ₹350 crore (+7.94%) for digital health records and telemedicine. Five regional Medical Tourism Hubs with integrated healthcare and AYUSH facilities announced. 150,000 caregivers to be trained. Budget also announced 17 cancer medicines exempted from customs duty and 7 rare diseases added to duty-free list.
