Biennial Rajya Sabha elections for 37 seats across 10 states (Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana) concluded around March 15-16, 2026. Twenty-six candidates were elected unopposed; voting was held for 11 seats in Bihar (5), Odisha (4), and Haryana (2) on March 16.

NDA won 22 seats (BJP 13 + allies 9), while opposition secured 15 (Congress 6, TMC 4, DMK 3, others 2). Bihar CM Nitish Kumar won a Rajya Sabha seat. In Bihar, the opposition Mahagathbandhan faced a setback as four of its MLAs did not vote. The NDA's Rajya Sabha numbers strengthened.
