NITI Aayog's Frontier Tech Hub released a strategic roadmap positioning India as a top-three global advanced-manufacturing hub by 2035 through frontier technologies including AI, robotics, and digital twins. The roadmap warns that failure to adopt frontier technologies could mean a potential loss of US$270 billion in additional manufacturing GDP by 2035, while targeted interventions can help generate 100+ million skilled jobs and place India among the top three advanced-manufacturing hubs.

The roadmap shortlists thirteen high-impact sectors grouped into five core clusters and recommends the creation of twenty Plug & Play Frontier Technology-enabled Industrial Parks across India with integrated skilling support. Currently, India's manufacturing contributes about 17% of GDP against the target of 25% under Make in India. Rajasthan's manufacturing sector, anchored by cement, textiles, and gems & jewellery, is targeted to contribute 20% of the state's GSVA by 2047 under the Viksit Rajasthan vision.
