India''s defence exports reached a record ₹38,424 crore in the financial year 2025-26, marking a significant milestone in the country''s push towards becoming a major global defence exporter. The achievement reflects the success of ''Make in India'' initiatives in the defence sector and growing international confidence in Indian defence products.

The exports include a wide range of equipment from missiles and radar systems to naval vessels and light combat aircraft components. Major export destinations include countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The growth has been driven by competitive pricing, demonstrated operational reliability, and strategic partnerships with friendly nations. India now aims to achieve ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by 2028-29. The defence production ecosystem has expanded with over 16,000 MSMEs now contributing to the supply chain, supported by initiatives like the Defence Industrial Corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
