Around March 25, 2026, Rajasthan's government announced 'Praveshotsav 2026', a large-scale enrolment campaign to coincide with the new academic session beginning April 1, 2026, in all state government schools. The campaign, themed 'Education Begins with the Start of the Academic Session', aims to enrol every child aged 3 to 18 years in the education system, reduce dropout rates, and ensure universal school attendance across the state.

Under a phased outreach schedule on March 27, April 6, April 10, and April 15, teams comprising Anganwadi workers, teachers, and local community representatives will conduct door-to-door household visits across all districts. Special emphasis is placed on the transition of children aged 5 to 6 from Anganwadi centres to Class 1. Government schools have been equipped with smart classrooms, ICT labs, activity-based learning infrastructure, digital libraries, and vocational education facilities ahead of the session launch.

The Rajasthan government ensured textbook distribution was completed at the district level before March 25. Praveshotsav aligns with the central government's 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's emphasis on foundational literacy. It is especially significant for Rajasthan, where tribal and rural girl-child dropout rates remain a policy concern. The initiative is a direct state-level implementation mechanism of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
