The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 15 April 2026 launched a modern, accessible and integrated website for the Department of Commerce (DoC), fully compliant with the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) 3.0 and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW). The new platform consolidates content scattered across multiple legacy sub-portals such as the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, the Trade Promotion Council pages and various Free Trade Agreement microsites into a single discoverable interface, with structured search across schemes, notifications, trade data and tariff resources. The website is paired with a bilingual mobile application available on Android and iOS that supports offline access for downloaded notifications and uses GPS to highlight nearest export hubs, special economic zones and Trade Facilitation Centres for users in the field. The launch is positioned as part of India's e-Governance vision, promoting transparency, efficiency and ease of doing business in foreign trade, and aligns with the Bharat Trade Net and India Trade Portal initiatives that aim to digitise exporter-government interactions end to end. The Ministry stated that the new website will improve service delivery for exporters, importers, MSMEs, customs brokers, freight forwarders and academic researchers by providing seamless access to trade-related information and resources, with WCAG accessibility features and responsive design for low-bandwidth environments. The redesign also synchronises with the Press Information Bureau template ecosystem so that ministerial announcements, press releases, RTI disclosures and public consultations follow a uniform information architecture across the Government of India.
